Lost and Found

I still live here, the place you tried to tear down
Forget the rent here because nobody would kick me out
Sit with your stereo, it never makes a sound
And your speakers, the ones that we blew out
Your old records still spin around
Here in the lost and found

Your old sweater holds a bit of your perfume
I liked it better when it was wrapped around you
It hangs on the door, but I could never throw it out
Just waiting in case you want to come around
Your old records spinning round and round
Here in the lost and found

Your old record spinning round and round
Here in the lost and found

I surround myself with the things you lost
In the hopes that I might be found

Broken keys, piano makes no sound
It calls to me, but I can’t remember how
To make my hands find the cords to settle down
In the places I knew when you used to come around
Still your record still spinning round
Here in the lost and found

I keep your record always spinning round
Here in the lost and found

Cemetery Rose

Woke up down by the Mississippi River
Trying to find my way back home.
I’ve been drinking too much on my liver
I don’t know where the time has gone

I’ve been chasing dreams that I will never know
With the wind always snapping at my feet
Freezing up North in the wind an snow
And sweating in the Southern heat

I’ve got to get back to where that old Missouri flows
I hope I make it in time to lie down and plant myself a cemetery rose

I’ve been working hard for five years and two months
Cause I hear the land up there ain’t cheap
But I’ve saved me a stack of pennies just high enough
To buy a plot that’s 6 feet deep

Cause I’ve got to get back to where that old Missouri flows
And I hope to make it in time lo lie down and plant myself a cemetery rose

Cemetery rose
I’ll get back to you
Cemetery Rose
To my family I’ll be true
Cemetery Rose

I’ll plant one for each of you
If it’s the last thing I do

Now I keep rowing up this old river
Breaking current seems every day
Some days I feel like I’m closer
While others I’m always further away

I’ve still got to get back to where that old Missouri flows
And I hope to make it in time to lie down and plant myself a cemetery rose

Cemetery rose
I’ll get back to you
Cemetery Rose
To my family I’ll be true
Cemetery Rose
I’ll plant 8
One for each of you
If it’s the last thing I do
